EUFAMI launches important survey about the effects of COVID-19 on Family carers
The unprecedented situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting the world’s population. EUFAMI (the European Federation of Associations of Families of People with Mental Illness based in Leuven, Belgium) is acutely aware that very many family members are experiencing great worry, hardship and anxiety as a result of this virus. It is in everybody’s interest that we try to measure in some way what effects the virus is having on our family members who on a daily basis are caring for their loved ones. To achieve this objective, EUFAMI is inviting family carers to participate in this online survey about their experiences caring for their loved ones who are affected by mental health issues during the COVID-19 crisis. The survey is being conducted by EUFAMI and the London School of Economics and Political Science. The aim of this survey is to focus on questions relate to loneliness, caregiver burden, brief information on service contact, perceptions of impact on finances and relationships. The completion of this online survey should only take around 12 – 15 minutes. The findings will be of immense value to EUFAMI’s member associations who provide support and advice to families on a daily basis.
