We would like to draw your attention to a speech given by EUFAMI's own Vice-President, Mr André Decraene, at the European Parliament premises during EPA's 40th anniversary in December 2023, regarding EUFAMI's Perspectives on the important role families of people affected by different mental health conditions play.
At EUFAMI we believe that it is possible for all patients to achieve control of their lives, to recover their self-esteem and move towards building a life where they experience a sense of belonging. We also believe that participation is an essential component of recovery and that Families have an essential role in this process.
In his speech, André goes on to list a number of pre-requisites necessary to enable families to fruitfully achieve this goal.
