Bulgarian association BGFAMI partakes in Europe-wide health talks in Brussels

The Patient Access Partnership (PACT) held an event on 7 June attended by EUFAMI prospective member Adriana Nikolova from BGFAMI.  Mrs. Nikolova was invited to the event by MEPs Katarina Konechna (GUE), Andrey Kovachev (EPP).

PACT is a joint initiative led by the Bulgarian National Patients’ Organization and the European Patients’ Forum, and involves multiple stakeholders, including patients, European policymakers, healthcare professionals, academia, and the healthcare industry.

The partnership emerged from the political momentum following the adoption of the Vilnius Declaration Call for Action on Sustainable Healthcare System for Inclusive Growth in Europe.  The declaration aims to ensure universal access to high quality people-centered health services and for a partnership approach between all stakeholders in the health sector at national and European levels to improve equity of access to healthcare.

The PACT panels discussed the therapeutic areas of oncology, neurology, rare diseases, diabetology and psychiatry. Mrs. Nikolova contributed the panel on psychiatry.

The  objective of the event was to share best practices, as well as to improve cooperation between national patient organizations and EU structures.
